Running around

Last night I ran more than I ever have before. Ever. Since it was dark, I ran in the gym at church--excuse me, Family Life Center. I walked for the length of "Mr. Pin-Stripe Suit" by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. After that I started a 4 lap walk/6 lap run cycle. I did that about 4 times, maybe more. I lost count. the last song I listen to is something that Randle Lowrance sings. He's the worship pastor at Zoar Baptist Church, where I used to work. Then I stretch for a few minutes.

Today, I did a strength training routine from the book "You on a Diet."There's no way I could have run again today. I'll run again tomorrow, but for now, my legs and hips are quite sore.

I got an e-mail about adding me to your friends list for myspace, well I don't really have anything set up yet, but when I do, of course you can add me! I hope to get a blog going also, but we will see! Hope your family is well! Carrie

New Year's Resolution--Day 8

Dave said in his sermon this past Sunday that 25% of New Year's Resolutions are broken before 2 weeks have past. I haven't made it that far yet, but I'm doing pretty good. Right now, the only unfolded thing in the laundry room is the dirty laundry. I'm not folding that. Not everything is put away, but everything clean is folded and stacked or hung up. It is a good feeling to know that I can find exactly what I'm looking for, unless it's dirty. It's great!

Pictures of the cool new bag

These are a few pictures of my new computer bag made from my favorite old polo. This is how I did it, if you are interested: 1. I put the shirt on one last time and determined that I would no longer wear it ever again. 2. I folded the shirt in half (tail to shoulders) and put my laptop on it to determine where the side seams would go. I marked those spots with pins. 3. Then I unfolded it and sewed across the front of the shirt near where the bottom front of the new bag would be and where the bottom back would be. This is so that I could use the inside of the shirt for pockets, but keep stuff from going under the bottom of the bag. 4. Then I sewed straight down from top to seam in step 3 on each side of the collar. This is where I will store the power brick. 5. I did the same thing on the back to make pouches for cables and the cordless mouse. 6. I then refolded it and sewed the side seams. I double checked to make sure the computer would fit before I cut. 7. I cut the excess fabric o...

Wired

I decided that today I'd try to finish the bathroom. The main thing I needed help with was the light fixture and the outlet. There were 2 wires coming into the bathroom, not official receptacles, except for the switch. I called my dad to come help me figure out the wiring. He ended up doing all the work because it wired so strangely. So we ran the wires down inside the walls rather than just hanging down from the ceiling. There is an official outlet and a wired in light fixture. The other thing I needed help with was removing the toilet tank so that I could remove the wallpaper from behind it and paint behind it. Dad helped me with that, too. Actually, he did most of the work on that. When I got the supplies from the building supply store in Carthage this morning, I told the man that this bathroom is so small it should be measured in square inches rather than feet. Eight square feet is a generous estimate. I tell people that you can potty and wash your hands at the same time, savin...
